Five!

Happy Birthday to our little fashionista!

I'm so proud of the little lady you have become!
  • You love Barbie dolls, Strawberry Shortcake & all things princess
  • Your favorite color is pink (& blue & purple - a girl needs options!)
  • An outfit is not complete unless you have on a tutu & your pink cowgirl boots
  • You love to draw & do crafts (which melts my heart)
  • Your bond with your daddy is priceless
  • You love gymnastics & are becoming freakishly strong
  • You are full of sass & attitude (5 going on 15!)
  • After 5 years, you are still attached to your piggy
  • You despise doing your hair
  • You give the best bunny kisses
  • You love to go shopping with me, cook with me and just hang out with me & I hope that never changes!

I love you baby girl to the moon & the stars!

Chalkboard Easter Eggs

This year I wanted to do something different with Easter eggs. Since my little girl likes to draw, I thought chalkboard eggs would be fun to try!

All you'll need is eggs, a bowl, chalkboard spray paint & of course chalk! I bought the paint at Michael's.

First you'll want to empty & clean out the eggs. Tap a small hole on one end & a pin sized hole at the other end. Now place a bowl under you and put your lips up to the egg. You'll want to blow through the pin size hole. All the egg guts will empty out the other end into the bowl.

Fill the egg with some hot water & give it a good shake. Empty out the water & repeat a few times.

Place a skewer in the larger hole & start spray painting! I did two layers of paint & allowed the eggs to dry overnight before drawing on them.

A cute idea for love messages!

For our Easter brunch, I plan to put one egg at each place setting with the guests name & a piece of chalk adorned with a pretty ribbon for them to doodle!

The chalk easily wipes off, so the eggs can be used over & over again!

Shutterfly Yearbooks

My little girl starts kindergarten in the Fall, but she has already made some special friendships in preschool that I hope she will never forget. So I'm so very excited to create a Shutterfly Yearbook so she'll always have memories of preschool.

I love this idea because you can use it in so many ways:
  • Dedicate one page for each kid in the class with their photo & a place for them to write a note to your child.
  • Take photos of their schoolwork & add it to a page. No loose papers to worry about.
  • Create it like a photo book and have pictures from school activities & holidays throughout the year
  • Present it to your child's teacher at the end of the year as a memory book!

The best part about Shutterfly's Yearbooks are that they are easy to make, not expensive (prices start at only $5), delivery is in just 3 weeks & are made of good quality so they will last!

You can check out their new yearbooks online!
You can also folllow them on Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest!

St. Patrick's Day Lucky Penny

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year, I wanted my little gal & I to do something different from the normal green candy treats! I was so excited when I stumbled across an adorable 'Lucky Penny' printable from Pumpkin Petunia. In just a few minutes, you can create these cute goodies & spread some cheer!

First you'll need to gather your pennies! I tried to get 2012 coins, but my bank didn't have them readily available. So we busted into our piggy bank & gathered up as many coins as we could. Upon inspection we realized pennies are d-i-r-t-y. Gross! We wanted shiny coins for our project, so we soaked our pennies in ketchup for 5-10 minutes.

After a quick rinse with water, they are brought back to their shiny golden luster. Crazy ~ but it does work!

Next we printed up some of the 'Lucky Penny' printables available HERE. We added a touch of glitter to the shamrocks for some sparkle & attached each coin with a dab of hot glue.

I also hand-stamped a few pennies to send to friends & family!
Everyone can always use an extra little bit of luck right?

All ready to be passed out to her classmates!

For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way -
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.

Glow Stick Bath Tub Party

Oh Pinterest you've done it again! If you have not tried this yet ~ it is awesome (and your kids will actually beg you to take a bath *gasp*)

Who knew something so simple as turning off the lights & throwing in some glow sticks in to the tub would be so much fun!

Container of glow sticks at Michael's - $1.00
The look on her face when she saw her bath - Priceless!

What are some things your kids enjoy that are fun & inexpensive?
